The carbon steel blade is forged in XC75 No2003 Carbon Steel to a hardness of 56HRC. The blade is very sharp and is easy to sharpen when it becomes necessary. The assembly of the Mercator knife is of high quality which will make your Mercator last through time, your grandson might find it in the attic.
